by DescriptionService on each press of d and then held in the Redux
store. The traces this bites are the ones written for volume -- a Manhattan
plot of a few hundred thousand points, a contour field sampled two thousand
times per curve -- where an uncapped table is a full pass over the layer for
a table nobody reads to the end.
Shared so the traces that cap cannot come to disagree about where the line
is. A trace that caps must say so, as a Table rows stat: the dialog prints
the row count it is given, and a count claiming the whole layer over a table
holding a fraction of it is worse than no table.
