MAIDR Documentation - v4.4.0

    • The qualitative bands an axis partitions its dial into.

Only a range with a finite endValue is a band: MAIDR carries the upper edge alone, because bands partition the range and a band starts where the previous one ended. That also excludes the hand's own range, which carries a value and no end — the reading is not one of the bands it lands in.

Sorted ascending, since an unsorted list would describe a partition the chart does not draw, and a band amCharts leaves unnamed is numbered by its position: that says where in the partition the reading landed, which is what a band is read for, without inventing a meaning the chart never gave it.
